Guiding others along the journey.
Imagine this situation: your colleague made a decision that upset you. It's probably not a difficult situation to imagine.
But, you weren't upset that a decision was made, but because the wrong one was. They operated without talking to you or without understanding the full scope of what they've said/suggested.
We've all been there before. Yes, they should have come to you first to discuss, but it's also our responsibility as designers to help others along the journey, especially those without the acumen and knowledge that you have about the process. You've spent years working on your process and craft. So rather than getting frustrated, look at those moments as opportunities to help educates others. You were in the same position they're in now at one point in your life, and others were frustrated with you. Someone took the time to teach you, so put yourself in their shoes and spend the time to teach them.
There is a need for us to guide others and establish that we are here to help. That will develop clear-cut communication, make yourself more approachable to others, decrease overall frustrations, and enhance the quality of everyone's life working on the project.
